National Support Services announcement imminent. Preferred bidders to be announced by Capacitybuilders on 21 November

13/11/2007

Over 60 organisations from across the wider third sector have responded to Capacitybuilders’ recent call for expressions of interest for the delivery of the National Support Services.

High demand for Equalities and Diversity strand

A number of these organisations have submitted bids to undertake more than one of the nine priority work streams, with the Equalities and Diversity strand receiving a notably high rate of interest.

Swift assessment

As previously reported, the assessment of all applications will be swift with Capacitybuilders poised to announce the chosen lead bodies for each work stream on 21 November.

Multiple bids

In response to the number of multiple-bids received, Capacitybuilders confirm that there remain no limitations on the number of work streams an individual organisation will be considered for.

Ambitious, but achievable timeframe

Responding to questions about the short two week assessment period, a Capacitybuilders spokesperson said, “we acknowledge that this time frame is ambitious, but it is achievable and we are confident that our prompt assessment process will serve to provide the best chance of a successful start for each of the nine work streams, when they launch in April 2008.”
